Roots to Inspire aims to highlight the rich diversity of musical traditions in Kirklees through creative collaboration. The programme, supervised by Dr Toby Martin, paired musicians Sam Hodgson, Testament, Supriya Nagarajan and Lisa Luxx with community music groups in Kirklees in order to create new music or a new take on traditional music. Roots to Inspire was delivered by the University of Huddersfield with funding from Kirklees Council via the Leeds City Region LEP’s Business Rates Pool Fund.
